Louise O’Reilly was recently appointed Head of Public Affairs & Development at the Irish Film Institute, Ireland’s national cultural institution for film. Louise is leading on the fundraising for digitisation of the IFI Irish Film Archive and the strategic development of the IFI Player - the globally accessible virtual viewing room for the extensive digitised Archive collections from 1897 to present day. Previously Louise lead on the development of the Global Science Gallery Network - a hugely ambitious international project for Ireland to establish eight Science Galleries worldwide by 2020, in partnership with research universities in leading cities of technological and cultural innovation around the world.
Louise has over a decade of experience in developing, delivering and managing strategic and special projects in creative and cultural industries. Louise has also worked as a lobbyist for the National Campaign for the Arts. Louise took European Studies at Trinity College Dublin and La Sorbonne Paris. She is an alumna of the Clore Leadership Programme and has guest lectured at Dublin Institute of Technology in Creative and Cultural Industries. She also sits on the Board of Directors for CREATE, the National Development Agency for Collaborative Arts in Social and Community Contexts. Louise is an Ireland Funds Young Leader since early 2012.
